The Torch Theatre is a modern and vibrant repertory theatre and centre for the arts. Open seven days a week it also has a busy Cinema programme. Established over 30 years ago, the Torch Theatre Company have gained a first class reputation, the winner of four Theatre in Wales Awards and an impressive repertoire of some 170 productions, including a highly acclaimed version of the award-winning musical The Hired Man which re-launched the striking new theatre after its £5.5 million refurbishment nearly three years ago.  Its Christmas show is always a firm family favourite.  More recently the Theatre’s Artistic Director, Peter Doran, directed She Stoops to Conquer, a highly acclaimed co-production between the Torch Theatre Company, Mappa Mundi and Theatr Mwldan which toured Wales in the spring of 2009 and was seen at the Torch in the autumn following a tour of England and they recently co-produced a high profile show with the internationally acclaimed Nofit State Circus and The National Theatre of Wales – placing Milford Haven firmly on the cultural map of Wales.  From direction to design, casting to creation, you can always expect superb quality in every respect from the Torch Theatre Company.

Saturday, 23rd June – Pembrokeshire Fish Week

This seriously fishy festival celebrates not just the abundance of mouth-watering sea-food of West Wales, but also Pembrokeshire’s breathtaking coastline, culture, great angling and fishing heritage.

A previous Gold award winner for True Taste Food Tourism Destination and crowned Pembrokeshire Tourism Premier Event in 2009/2010. This year the festival is celebrating by hosting more than 200 family-friendly events around the coast and inland waterways.

Food lovers can enjoy shellfish extravaganzas, seafood Tapas, crab lunches, or just great fish and chips! With plenty of opportunities to sample and buy locally caught fish and shellfish or forage the seashores for a wild feast.

Top chefs Valentine Warner, Mitch Tonks, Bryn Williams, Mark Hix and Anthony Evans will be showing their fishing and cooking skills at our midweek master class. Plus cookery and preparation demonstrations with Duncan Lucas and Brian Terry.

Enjoy the beautiful coastline with a variety of river cruises, seashore rambles, kayaking and coasteering adventures or fishing trips.

Keen anglers can take part in several fishing competitions while there are plenty of opportunities for beginners to ‘just have a go’.

The programme casts off on June 23rd with a food lovers and family day at Milford Haven Marina, where you can enjoy a carnival atmosphere alongside fish and shellfish demonstrations, opportunities to taste many varieties of fish on the go, plus plenty for non fish lovers too, entertainment for all ages and many varied stalls.

Pembrokeshire Fish Week is truly a county–wide event and you don’t have to love fish to enjoy the fun!
