Milford Haven Mayor's Christmas
message

“The recent arrival of Santa, the
children’s lantern parade and the turning on of
the Town’s lights brought Milfordians out in
their hundreds as usual. “We are fortunate to
have organisations like the Town Band, the
Stratford Players, the Round Table and Neyland
Ladies Choir who give their unfailing support
each year. Many compliments have been received
from visitors commenting on how the townsfolk
got involved and the community spirit shown.
“I think it is important, in these difficult
times, that we make all we can of these events
and hang on to that great feeling of community
and belonging that they bring. It is these
feelings that helped the town win the battle for
the Coastguard station, securing not only local
jobs, but also a safer community. The town can
be proud of the stance it took and the efforts
of so many people to ensure we got the right
result.
“Looking ahead, work has, at last, started on
Milford’s new surgery and this time next year we
will have one of the most modern health centres
in the country and I hope this is just the
start. Many people are working behind the scenes
to bring about the regeneration of our town. It
will be a long and slow process but it will
happen if we all work together and show that
spirit.
“Wendy and I wish you all a very Merry Christmas
and a safe, peaceful and happy new year.”
